Focussing on optical imaging targeting proteases that are overexpressed in inflammatory diseases
Key Activities
Produced good results and a publication in the first year.
Working on developing a NIR probe.
Synthesised a compound that can detect Neutrophil Extracellular Traps and getting good results in vitro and in cells. Exploring applicability to COVID and multiple sclerosis through collaboration.
How Proteus is Helping Me Grow and Develop as a Researcher
I really like working in collaboration – I learn so much through it. Collaboration is essential for publishing in biology – for example, some of the other people in the project produced the images for a paper, which I never could have gotten without their experience.
